Members are Dr. Edward Mbwambo, Dr. Jackline Ndosi, and Dr. Joel MatikuTo enhance research grant writing at MJNUAT, the DRPPS have encouraged each academic unit/departments to form research groups with list of staff of common interest/field who can respond to various calls for proposals.  Currently, 4 research groups have been formed from different departments where other interested researchers are still welcome to join any group of their interest. Group no. 1: Department of Agricultural Sciences; Members are Dr. Yusufu Kafula, Dr. Mnyoro Mangera, Dr. Abubakari Mgelwa, Dr. Wambura Mashauri, and Dr. Selly Msungu. Group no. 2: The Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Members are; Dr. Cornel Kibona, Dr. Lekumok Kironyi, and Professor Agness Mwakaje. Group no. 3: Department of Agricultural Engineering and Bioprocesses; members are Dr. Jofrey Masana, Dr. Erasto Focus, Dr. Thobias Mwalingo, and Reinfrida Basheke. Group no. 4: Department of Social Science and Humanities
