Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MJNUAT) has been urged to accelerate its preparations for admitting students into diploma programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This directive was issued on May 20, 2025, by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Daniel Mushi, during his visit to the university to inspect ongoing construction projects. These include classrooms, dormitories, a library, offices, and related infrastructure at both the Main Campus and the Oswald Mango’mbe Campus.

“You must be well-prepared to receive a large number of students, as there is a significant increase in the number of secondary school graduates seeking admission to higher education institutions,” emphasized Professor Mushi.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of MJNUAT, Professor Lesakit Mellau, confirmed that the university is ready to begin admitting diploma students. He announced that the application window will officially open on May 28, 2025, under the coordination of the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET).
