MJNUAT conducts both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaborative research and development projects that contribute to solving problems in society. Most of the research projects are within MJNUAT's primary research priorities. The major objective of research conducted is to translate into economic, financial, or social value. Moreover, research is integrated into education and teaching at every level.  Currently, there are two research projects in progress. These are the Evidence for Innovation project, which is funded by IDRC, and the HEET project funded by the World Bank
