MJNUAT Purchased Two Brand-new Vehicles Through HEET Project
The Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MJNUAT) has successfully acquired two vehicles purchased through the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project.
These two vehicles, costing approximately 690 million Tanzanian Shillings, are expected to facilitate not only the HEET project activities, but also the other activities undertaken by the University.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the vehicles, the guest of honor Prof. James Mdoe, who is the Deputy Permanent Secretary – Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, congratulated MJNUAT for this initiative.
"Being able to purchase two vehicles at least to start with is a significant milestone for the university. This was previously a dream, but we made it a reality, and we are gradually progressing further" emphasized Prof. Mdoe.
Additionally, the National Coordinator of the HEET project, Dr. Kennedy Hosea, praised the university leaders for spearheading the establishment of the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology.
"Establishing a university is not an easy task. I request you to congratulate Prof. Lesakit Mellau (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Msafiri Jackson (Deputy Vice Chancellor - Planning, Finance, and Administration), and Prof. Dominick Kambarage (Former Vice Chancellor). They have fought hard for this university, which has now started to admit students", clarified Dr. Hosea.
MJNUAT has received a total of 102.3 billion Tanzanian Shillings through the HEET project to implement five project key areas: construction of infrastructures, updating curriculum and introducing innovative pedagogical methodologies, building functional linkages with private sector/industries, strengthening use of digital technology, and building capacity of academic staff and university leadership.
